After dinner we take a gentle stroll through the elegant Baixa district, known for its grand plazas, tiled façades, and boutique-lined boulevards.

This morning we head to Belém, the historic riverside district where Portugal’s Age of Discovery set sail. We’ll visit the striking Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that once guarded the entrance to Lisbon’s harbour, and the magnificent Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture and a symbol of Portugal’s maritime legacy.

No visit to Belém is complete without tasting a freshly baked pastel de nata from the iconic Pastéis de Belém bakery—crispy, creamy, and utterly delicious.

After lunch, we’ll wander through the narrow, cobbled streets of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhood. With its colourful houses, hidden courtyards, and traditional fado music drifting through the air, this guided walking tour reveals the soulful heart of the city.

Today we escape the city for a magical day trip to the lush hills of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its romantic palaces and misty forests. We’ll explore the whimsical Pena Palace, perched high above the town with its vibrant colours, eclectic architecture, and sweeping views—straight from a storybook.

After soaking in Sintra’s enchantment, we’ll head to the coast and enjoy a leisurely seaside stroll in Cascais, a chic coastal town known for its relaxed atmosphere, elegant boutiques, and salty sea breeze.

This morning we fly to the breathtaking island of Madeira, a lush Atlantic gem known for its dramatic landscapes, year-round springtime climate, and warm hospitality. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel in Funchal, the island’s charming capital.

We’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of Funchal’s old town, where cobbled lanes, colourful street art, and lively markets offer a taste of Madeiran life.

In the afternoon take time to relax, unwind by the sea, or explore at your own pace. We’ll come together for a welcome dinner featuring Madeiran specialties, including the island’s signature espetada—succulent skewered beef grilled over open flames and served with traditional accompaniments.

This morning, we board a cable car to Monte, gliding high above Funchal with panoramic views of the city and coastline below. At the top, we explore the beautifully landscaped Monte Palace Gardens, filled with exotic plants, koi ponds, and tranquil pathways.

The real thrill comes next—with a ride on the island’s famous Monte toboggan, a traditional wicker sled steered by two carreiros in straw hats, whisking us down the hillside in unforgettable Madeiran style!

This afternoon we roll up our sleeves for a hands-on Madeiran cooking class, learning how to prepare local favourites such as warm, garlicky bolo do caco and traditional regional desserts. A fun, delicious way to experience the heart of Madeiran culture.

This morning, we venture along the island’s sun-drenched southern coast to the charming fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, its colourful boats bobbing in the bay just as they did when Churchill once painted the scene. From here, we ascend to the dramatic Cabo Girão skywalk, where a glass platform teeters 580 metres above the Atlantic, offering jaw-dropping views for the brave-hearted.

A light lunch awaits us at a nearby Madeira wine estate, nestled among vineyards and rolling hills. The afternoon invites a deeper exploration of Madeira’s winemaking heritage, with a guided tour and tasting at the estate. Sip on rich, fortified wines and soak in the tranquillity of this timeless landscape.

In the afternoon, we return to Funchal. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure — perhaps explore Mercado dos Lavaradores market, a little shopping, or an optional spa treatment to unwind before the final day in paradise.

This morning, we set off for the island’s eastern tip to explore the wild and windswept beauty of Ponta de São Lourenço. We pause for a light lunch at a local café, soaking in the fresh sea air.

In the afternoon, we set sail on a dolphin-watching cruise, keeping an eye out for playful pods gliding through the Atlantic — a magical way to end our coastal adventure.
