Italy is one of the most visited countries in the world. It attracts millions of tourists every year thanks to its fascinating culture, natural landscapes, artistic sites, and renowned cuisine. The Adventurous Ewe’s walking tour in Tuscany is not to be missed. Our women’s only tour will not only show you the best of Tuscany but you can experience this amazing region with other like-minded women.  Women that want to escape, wander and explore with you.

Why Tuscany?

Tuscany is a region in central Italy known for its rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves and historic cities. It has a warm and sunny climate, making it an ideal destination for outdoor activities such as walking.

Why Walking?

Meet like-minded women and have some fun. Some women are nervous about coming on a walking holiday, however, you all have an interest in common, love the outdoors and activity. Take the first step, you won’t be sorry. Tuscany is rich in historical villages.  The best way to experience these historical villages is to walk through them.

Our Tour

We start and end the tour in Florence, one of the most beautiful and enchanting cities in Italy. The Walking in Tuscany tour with The Adventurous Ewe, was created for a small group of 10 women. We will discover a hidden gem in Tuscany, the Garfagnana region, located in the northern part of Tuscany, which is known for its picturesque landscapes and scenic villages. We walk through stunning scenery, experiencing the rich history and culture and quaint villages that Tuscany has to offer, lead by a qualified local guide who has an intricate knowledge of the area. Our base is on an organic farm in the Apuan Alps from where we head out every day on a different route.

Historical towns and villages

The enchanting old town of Lucca is an absolute gem and seen as one of the most beautiful towns of Tuscany.  Stroll through Lucca’s picturesque alleyways, across impressive squares and past breathtaking sights.  There are beautiful old churches, stunning viewpoints and the historical city wall which circles its way around the town centre.

In short, anyone longing to spend the day walking through a picture perfect Italian town will love Lucca.

Some of the main attractions in Lucca include:

  1. City Walls that offer a scenic walk or cycling path with panoramic views of the city and surroundings.
  2. Several historical churches, including the Basilica di San Frediano and the Church of San Michele in Foro, which are known for their stunning architecture and works of art.
  3. Piazza dell’Anfiteatro square built on the remains of an ancient Roman amphitheater and is now a popular gathering place for locals and tourists alike.
  4. Beautiful parks and gardens, such as the Giardini Botanici, which offer a peaceful escape from the city’s bustling streets.

Food and Wine

Of course the walking tour would not be complete without Italian food and local wines! Picture an aperitif on the terrace discussing the day’s meandering and what lies ahead. A candlelit dinner served in the cosy dining room amidst antiques and oil paintings, or, on warm evenings eating out on the vine covered terrace with views of the Serchio Valley and mountains beyond while eating a typical Italian pizza for dinner.

A walking holiday will nourish your soul. They say travel is like love because it heightens your state of awareness. The best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end.
