Our Tour
We start and end the tour in Florence, one of the most beautiful and enchanting cities in Italy. The Walking in Tuscany tour with The Adventurous Ewe, was created for a small group of 10 women. We will discover a hidden gem in Tuscany, the Garfagnana region, located in the northern part of Tuscany, which is known for its picturesque landscapes and scenic villages. We walk through stunning scenery, experiencing the rich history and culture and quaint villages that Tuscany has to offer, lead by a qualified local guide who has an intricate knowledge of the area. Our base is on an organic farm in the Apuan Alps from where we head out every day on a different route.
Historical towns and villages
The enchanting old town of Lucca is an absolute gem and seen as one of the most beautiful towns of Tuscany. Stroll through Lucca’s picturesque alleyways, across impressive squares and past breathtaking sights. There are beautiful old churches, stunning viewpoints and the historical city wall which circles its way around the town centre.
In short, anyone longing to spend the day walking through a picture perfect Italian town will love Lucca.
Some of the main attractions in Lucca include:
- City Walls that offer a scenic walk or cycling path with panoramic views of the city and surroundings.

Food and Wine
Of course the walking tour would not be complete without Italian food and local wines! Picture an aperitif on the terrace discussing the day’s meandering and what lies ahead. A candlelit dinner served in the cosy dining room amidst antiques and oil paintings, or, on warm evenings eating out on the vine covered terrace with views of the Serchio Valley and mountains beyond while eating a typical Italian pizza for dinner.
